Ellen Hart Sturm
Ellen Hart-Sturm has led what many might call a "typically atypical" New York life. Thanks to her ambitious spirit and garishly open mind, she has traveled down a wide variety of career paths- from teenage beauty queen to fashion model, to coffee-house impresario and successful restaurant owner.
While in high school, Ellen was selected from hundreds of other contestants to be one of the New York Transit Authority's monthly "Miss Subway". Posters of her were placed throughout the city's subway system. But instead of pursuing a modeling, singing or acting career, Ellen opted for marriage to Entrepreneur Irving Sturm, who actively encouraged her myriad of business, social and humanitarian interests.
Her first restaurant, "Ellen's Coffee Cafe", was located near City Hall and became the gathering place of choice for civil servants and politicians alike. Aside from its warm atmosphere and popular snacks, the cafe quickly gained notoriety for the 'instant marriage receptions' it provided its numerous newlywed customers.
Alongside her professional accomplishments, Ellen has also undertaken a number of community endeavors, including involvement in programs for local humanitarian relief and nutritional dining.
Minimum at all tables is $10.00 per person during our prime hours. All parties of 5 or more will have 18% gratuity added to the check.
